Elena D’Alessandris

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and my Master’s degree in Functional Genomics at the University of Trieste.

During my master’s thesis, I worked at SISSA in the Neurogenetics laboratory of Professor Alessia Soldano, where I investigated the role of m6A RNA methylation in the development of the Drosophila melanogaster optic lobes.

As a PhD student, I aim to further understand how m6A-mediated regulation influences optic lobes development, with a particular focus on glial cells and their interactions with neurons
