I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnologies from the University of Milano-Bicocca and a Master’s degree in Functional Genomics at the University of Trieste. During my training, I gained experience in molecular and cellular biology, with a focus on genome stability, protein biochemistry, and DNA repair mechanisms, through research projects carried out at the Institut Cochin and Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste. After one year as a research collaborator in the Non-coding RNA and Genomic Stability Laboratory at the University of Trieste, I am currently a PhD student in Functional and Structural Genomics at SISSA, working in the Computational Genomics Lab under the supervision of Professor Remo Sanges. My research focuses on understanding the functional role of the AHDC1 gene, whose mutations are associated with Xia-Gibbs syndrome.
